FOOD!! GLORIOUS FOOD!! As a part of Rally Sunday on September 12th, there will be a potluck after worship hosted by the United Methodist Men. Each family is asked to bring a dish to pass. CHOIRS BEGIN Our wonderful choirs have begun rehearsing each Wednesday to enrich our worship experience. The Joyful Noise choir for 5th through 8th grade youth begins at 4:45 PM. The King's Kids for youth through 4th grade is at 5:30 PM. The Chancel Choir rehearses at 7 PM. Beginning September 15th, the Wesley Ringers will rehearse at 6 PM. HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING SEPT. 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28 Hospice volunteer training will be offered from 6 to 9 PM at Trinity Regional Medical Center on the above dates to teach individuals in our community to support patients with life-limiting illness. To register, call 515-574-8511 by September 7th. REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE REJOICE!! The annual fall rummage sale will be held October 8th and 9th. Donated items should be brought to the church basement by Tuesday, October 5th. Proceeds support domestic and international missions. |
CHECK US OUT AT NIGHT We notice the new Cross and Flame signs during the day, but have you seen how we look at night? The signs are backlit and provide a great night time appearance to FUMC. SUNDAY SCHOOL STARTING SEPTEMBER 19TH We need a lot of adult volunteers for the upcoming Sunday School program. Duties include teaching to being a helper. Please contact Jennifer or the church office for more information. LOVE COMES SOFTLY Performances of "Love Comes Softly" by Toby Waldowski will be presented at Asbury United Methodist in Webster City at 7 PM on September 11th and 2 PM on September 12th. CARILLON CONCERT There will be a brief carillon concert following the 9 AM regular chime on Saturday, September 11th featuring a composition entitled "Memorial to September 11, 2001" by John Courter. The concert will also include America the Beautiful, God of Love and God of Power, and America. Please use this opportunity for remembrance of those who lost their lives on that terrible day in our history. THE LORD'S CUPBOARD Urgent needs for September include: macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned vegetables, and Jelly. Plastic grocery bags are always needed. Financial contributions are always welcome. SEPTEMBER MISSION OFFERING The mission offering for the month of September supports Ingathering. We urge your continued support of this very valuable ministry. IN THE HOSPITAL? OFFICE HOURS The church office is open Monday through Friday: 8 AM to 12 Noon 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM WAYS TO SERVE Volunteers are always needed for the nursery. Liturgists for Sunday worship are always welcome. WAYS TO LEARN A women's Bible study group meets at 8:30 AM on Wednesday at Friendship Haven. Contact the church office for details.
