Christian Education,  Youth Ministries and continuing Adult Study comprise the gauntlet of our educational program at First United Methodist.  You are invited to visit or attend one or many of the various opportunities offered.

  • Church School
8:45 am on Sunday (for all ages) (beginning September 9th through May)

The first through sixth graders are new studying prayer. The students will learn different ways to pray and the significance of prayer in an individual's life.  To help highlight prayer in this rotation, Jennifer Peterson is asking for people to share in their stories of answered prayers, if they are comfortable in doing so. You can email those to her at jenniferpeterson@fumcfortdodge.org or drop them off at the office.

  • Confirmation
5:30 pm on Wednesdays (8th grade students)  A confirmation meal is served at 5:15 each week for those involved in this training program.

  • Discovery Gang
Discovery Gang began on Wednesday the 5th of September.     Beginning in October, we will meet on the Wednesdays that school does not have an early out.  Discovery Gang is for youth, grades 5 & 6, but 7th and 8th graders are welcome to attend.  Call Jennifer at 515 576 7586 for questions you may have.

  • Middle School UMYF
MSUMYF  meets on those Wednesdays that there is NOT an early release from school - the group meets in the church basement at 3:30 pm.

  • Senior High UMYF
    The Teen Scene....
We meet on the first and third Sunday of each month from 5:45 until 7:00 pm.  This is a great opportunity to come and grow in your faith.  We will be doing studies that you help pick out, and talking about what you want to talk about.  Like any other youth group, you don't have to be a member of this church to be involved, so...bring a friend.

  • Teens 4 Tomorrow
Teens for Tomorrow will begin meeting in October - Watch for more information in the coming weeks.
